Watching television with Heather this drizzly evening, I noticed something about my tv-watching psyche that I hadn’t noticed before. I gave the faux-realistic, cheesy CGI scenes no chance to even try to be good. It’s like since they were cheap and unrealistic and intrusively artificial, the scenes didn’t deserve my time. And that is wrong. So wrong.
Graduation for the Grady College was yesterday. I have to admit that it was weird because of the fact that most of the people around me were pretty much done with everything. Me? Of course, I have plenty left, so minus the anticipation it was just sweaty and so-so and uncomfortable clothing. The plus side is that my family came and they were definitely fun.
If I ever were to have access to some sort of log file of my life, I am sure that the statistics would be staggering. For example, the life timer on my cell phone is currently at 175 hours. I’ve had this phone for about a year. That means that during that year, seven complete days and change worth of time were spent on my phone. That’s roughly 1/52 of my time, talking on the phone.
But its ridiculousness pales in comparison to the ridiculous amount of time I ALWAYS spend at Kinko’s getting shit printed.
So I visited my advisor today… MORE bad news. This summer just got even more interesting. Not only can they not waive the one remaining hour of Journalism Elective credit I needed, I found out that my geography credit from before, the one that has been disputed for about, oh, two years now, is only valid for credit, not for hours.
Wonderful.
So now, according the the sticky note I have, I have to take 17 hours this summer.
I am not going to have time to even breathe.
Wonderful.
Yes, we had an AWESOME time in the mountains. It was so great to get away, especially with all of the crap I’ve (we’ve) got to do coming up. The good news is my family’s coming to town Friday :). The bad news is I have my Spanish presentation Thursday as well as having to do several ads by Wednesday and a few more by Thursday, all to go in two separate, professional, books for two separate classes.
It’s go time, people. I have so much crap it’s amazing.
See you all later. I am going to bury myself in work.
It should be a good weekend. We are going to Norcross tonight and then tomorrow we will be camping in North Georgia. Somewhere in the Blue Ridge area. I am looking forward to camping again.
Of course, first, I have to clean out my car and pack. How fun.
Really.
Dancing is very very very fun. We danced at Half Moon, Firehouse, Wild Wing, and at my apartment. I think it’s some primal instinct, but I don’t do it very often. I think that’s because I am usually very self-conscious. Not tonight. I guess it’s just…
Whatever.
The movie Cannibal: The Musical or Alferd Packer: The Musical. I have to say, the picture has the amateur charm of a really good indy flick, but there’s something else there too. Trey Parker and Matt Stone (of South Park fame) really do musicals right. I mean, they did this in college. $125,000 budget notwithstanding, to have the kind of creativity and patience to create a feature-length film while in college is pretty amazing.
By the way, almost all of the old entries will have a 12:00pm time stamp since the old journal didn’t have time stamping and I don’t remember times for all of them.
My journal has moved to gvonk.livejournal.com. This involved copying and pasting all the entries here from the now-defunct EasyJournal.
I changed it for a number of reasons. That number is 2.
Thank you.
