And just so everyone knows, NASCAR is stupid and lame. Incredibly stupid and lame. I hope that I am not offending anyone but since it’s NASCAR we’re talking about, I don’t particularly care. The cars, the people, the flags, the wrecks… I don’t care that it’s the most popular spectator sport in the country. It’s dumb.

Yesterday was my last day with the Escort Van service. After three years, I am moving on. *sigh* It’s kind of a relief. I got a much better job where I won’t have to work so late and I will make more money. Hopefully the new job will go well. I’m not really nervous since I will just be working in a computer lab.

Is it wrong to have 23 pairs of underwear? Is that a lot? It seemed like a lot when I folded them.

Why do so many people top off the gasoline in their tank after they fill it up? I mean, it’s not like you are going to notice that you were able to go an extra 0.714 miles on that tank later on. In addition, the pump and your car were designed to stop at a certain level! It’s like you’re saying “Well, I am certainly smarter than you, Mr. Pump. I have the requisite knowledge in fluid dynamics and the physical tolerances of the tank and/or seals in my car to be able to know what is better for the vehicle much more than you can.”

Does it make you feel good knowing that there’s that extra 3.1 ounces of gas in there?
Does it?

Quote of the day: “Look, we have exhausted virtually all our diplomatic effort to get the Iraqis to comply with their own agreements and with international law. Given that, what other option is there but to force them to do so? That’s what they’re saying. This is the key question. And the answer is we don’t have another option. We have got to force them to comply militarily.”

-Feb. 11, 1998, Tom Daschle, the Democrat who now says that there is no case for Bush to defend military action in Iraq. Of course, when your party is in office, it must be a lot easier to agree with their actions.

Frank and I had a good time around the city. I got to see a lot of fun stuff I hadn’t seen before and eat some REALLY good food.

Pictures:
Friday night:
Me and Frank in a bar on Bourbon Street.

A shot of me on a (somewhat mild) Bourbon Street. It wasn’t too crowded but there were certainly enough people there to convince me it’s a happenin’ place.

Frank and his friend Katie

Saturday night:
The two of us on top of a building at Tulane, where Frank goes, in front of the law school.

After we waited an hour and a half, we ate at this _great_ restaurant, Jacques-Imo’s. I had the roasted acorn squash with seafood in a curry cream sauce. Incredible. I loved it.

Anyway, I gotta get to bed so’st I can drive back in the morning.

I built my computer last weekend– perhaps I will post pictures. I used a few parts from my old computer but mostly new stuff. The specs:
Lian-Li PC-65 Aluminum Case
Soyo Dragon Ultra KT333 Platinum Edition Motherboard.
Athlon XP2200 at 1.8GHz
1024MB PC2700 DDR Memory
120GB Western Digital 8MB Cache 7200 RPM Hard Drive

It’s superfast and very cool. However, it is very HOT temperaturewise. In fact, the freakin box heats up the entire upper floor of the apartment. I am beginning to have to shut it down when I leave or go to bed just so that Matt’s and my room are not really hot when I get back.

Also, it’s loud. Not jet-engine loud, but definitely vacuum cleaner loud.
Perhaps I shall buy some quiet case fans.

I leave you with This, a story about a guy who build his own island out of plastic bottles. Crazy stuff, but it sounds fun nonetheless.
