The proximity of taxicabs and taxidermists in the yellow pages is possibly the juxtaposition of the highest and lowest utility for two businesses in existence.
For a while, especially being on a college campus, I have had many people explain the wonders of vegetarianism to me. I, of course, listen. It is not always an easy concept to understand, for, after all, animals seem to be pretty tasty and zero animals have come up to me and asked me not to eat them, so they must be ok with it, right? I mean, animals are a lesser life form. There’s no way around it. We don’t let them vote in elections and they can’t rent videos down at Blockbuster.
So why do people have such a bad taste for eating them?
It seems like there is a nutritional bad rap for a lot of animal products.
This report cleared up a lot of the things that I had heard about vegetarianism being the healthiest way to eat.
I respect all of my vegetarian comrades, and a choice is a choice, for whatever reason, but it certainly helped me to read this report.
The weather this morning was kinda cool. I was woken up about 5am by the constant lightning. No offense to the 20+ people who died in last night’s storms, but it’s about time. Not since the snowfall back in January have we actually had interesting weather here in Georgia. It’s refreshing, that’s all.
Every day, it seems, I find out some other historical ‘fact’ is completely untrue. What’s unfortunate about history is that there is one truth, but nobody will ever, ever know it. It’s got to be frustrating for historians and such.
My room got an upgrade yesterday– I put together my new (used) desk in my computer room. I like the L-shaped desk in the corner much better because it’s a little lower to the ground and is very well-suited to my space needs. I daresay the desk is more organized too.
Here’s what the configuration looks like…
I keep forgetting I have this thinkg to write in. I suppose it’s just as well.
Sometimes, I am self-conscious about how many sentences in a given communique I write have the word I in them. It makes me feel like my writing is self-centered.
