Finally, I return

Well, I have been noticably (to a few people) absent from my post here at the LJ, and the biggest reason is the software project that has been consuming my life.
Here’s the press release for the finale event.

Now, my life is likely back to normal, with the exception of a few random finals and polishing the application for our final delivery date. I am at work now, back in Athens from attending an Atlanta wedding with my mom Saturday and seeing Heather play tennis today.

So, the cell phone companies are fighting the “number portability” law that has been batted around for years by congress. I personally don’t really know how to feel about it. On the one hand, allowing consumers to keep their telephone numbers from one service provider to another will stimulate competition. On the other hand, I feel like the government shouldn’t force any business to make expensive changes to infrastructure in the name of convenience.

Slept a little too much today, forgot to eat. HUNGRY! Cannot use subjects. Must use broken English.

So we are in the middle of one of these night-time coding sessions (that I fear will become an overnight session), and I am slowly realizing that I am really not up to speed with these technologies. I think this is the first project I have ever worked on in which I have not been well-versed in the methods used for its completion. It’s somewhat disheartening. This is not to say that I am ever the smartest member of a group or that I know it all. It’s just that every single person in this group, with the exception of maybe one, knows this stuff better than I do. Not a huge deal. I am sure this will be rectified.

I added two whole pictures to the LJ. The point is that my smiling face is now smiling back at you.
We are in Boca Raton, Fl (we being my Mom, my Dad, myself, and my brother.) We are here to celebrate my dad’s birthday, which is Saturday.
