I’m off in a few minutes to cast my vote. In the last few weeks, I’ve gone back and forth between Bush and Badnarik, but in the end, it will be Badnarik that I vote for. Bush has the state wrapped up anyway, but beyond that, he’s still the candidate with whom I agree on the most issues. It’s tempting to take a more utilitarian stance, or perhaps a more realistic stance, but years from now, I will be able to look back and really be happy I voted my conscience.

Hopefully, I will be in and out in an hour or two, but I don’t know how busy this place is going to be.

If anybody missed any of my latest entries (new car, old car, etc), make sure and read back. Livejournal support claims it was some kind of database overload that caused the entries not to show up on people’s friends pages.

I voted Libertarian myself. Someone has to represent in this gulag of a state I live in.

I wish Badnarik represented my conscience. As it is, I think he’s as big a tool as the other two–if not bigger (let’s pull all the troops out of Iraq immediately?! Give me a break… even Kerry’s not that retarded). I voted my conscience by voting Bush. To each his own, though; I’m registered in Georgia too, and you know where that state’s gonna go.

Yeah, in the end, Badnarik did represent my conscience, because even with our disagreement over extreme isolationism, he is consistent and rational about the issues. I still agree with him on more than any other candidate, and that’s good enough for me.

I should have voted Libertarian and am kicking myself now. I was just terrified that for some impossible reason Kerry might win Georgia if I voted my peace of mind rather than for the (slightly) lesser of two evils(Bush). Cherish the peace of mind you must have!

Don’t kick yourself. It’s not like it really matters. Georgia is one of the biggest states for Libertarians, but it’s not like they’re going to win or anything. :(
